Organized jointly by Marmara University Turkic Studies Institute and the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, the event titled "30th Anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide" was held on February 23, 2022, at Marmara University Göztepe Campus.

Azerbaijan's Istanbul Consul General Nermine Mustafayeva, Director of the Marmara University Turkic Studies Institute  Prof. Dr. Okan Yeşilot, Istanbul  Rumeli University Head of Department of Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions Prof. Dr. Ali Denizli and Istanbul Aydın University Department of Political Sciences and International Relations Lecturer Dr. Murat Jane attended the event as a speaker.

In the event moderated by Lect. Dr. Mehdi Genceli of the Marmara University,  the victims of Khojaly were commemorated, and the demand for "Justice for Khojaly" was repeated once again. While the speakers expressed that the Khojaly atrocities will never be forgotten, Consul General Nermine Mustafayeva said, "Our only demand is that the perpetrators of the Khojaly Genocide be brought to justice."
