On the occasion of German physicist Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen's discovery of X-rays on November 8, 1895 and putting them at the service of humanity, "World Radiology Day" is celebrated on 8th November in our country and around the world with various activities every year.
World Radiology Day event was held on 7 November 2022 at Marmara University Kartal Campus Conference Hall.
In the event that started after a moment of silence and the National Anthem, Lecturer of the Medical Imaging Program Assoc. Prof. Nuran Akyurt and Deputy Director of Higher School Prof. Dr. Gülden Sınmazışık gave opening speeches on the meaning and importance of the day. In the event, where innovations and advanced techniques in radiology were discussed, firstly, an awareness (flash mob) activity was carried out in the hall with informative articles about the harms of radiation and protection rules by the students of the Medical Imaging Techniques Program. In the second part of the event, innovation studies in the field of radiology were included. Assoc. Prof. Nuran Akyurt shared her project experiences on studies on "Virtual Reality in Radiology (RSG)", a new approach in the field of medical imaging. FujiFilm Healthcare Specialist Asil Ziya Selçuk informed the participants about dose reduction, shortening of examination times, image quality and parameters used in radiographic images.
8 November World Radiology Day event ended with a group photo shoot after the music concert of Grup Venus.
