In collaboration with the Faculty of Health Sciences of Marmara University, the Department of Nursing at Istanbul Medeniyet University, the Breast Health Association (Memeder), and the Turkish Nurses Association (THD), the event on "Breast Health, Breast Self-Examination (BSE), and Early Diagnosis" was organized for health sciences of students. The event was held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Conference Hall of Istanbul Medeniyet University's Cevizli Campus, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event was organized as part of the activities of the project titled "Development of a Prototype for Early Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Screening Using Virtual Reality (VR) Technology," which was accepted under the "ADEP" call. Project’s coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuran Akyurt, by providing comprehensive training on breast health, early diagnosis processes, and breast self-examination (BSE), emphasized the importance of raising awareness.
The event, which attracted great interest from health sciences students, included a BSE workshop and various practical applications on early breast cancer diagnosis and screening methods using virtual reality (VR) technology.
