Football, dance show, theatre, karaoke, competition, concert, draw, and various cultural and art programmes arranged within the context of the festival performed the first time. Coordinator of Alumni Office Assoc. Bülent Yılmaz Ph.D. said “I have been in Marmara University for 28 years and I am glad to make an organization throwing together all faculties and departments for the first time in Marmara University history on that concept. Our participation is also going well. Our purpose is to see Marmara University with the worthy in Turkey of our alumni and students as a whole within the community. I am glad because a university is a real university with its alumni anyway.” Assoc. Yılmaz Ph.D. also mentioned the activities carried out as part of the spring festival, and emphasized their purposes to traditionalize the festivals, and said “We have some music activities. We also have dance shows, football shows, and lifestyle shows. There are draws in our graduation festival with the support of our sponsors. There will be 7-8 draws. Our purpose is to start our partnership with the Alumni and make it traditional.”
Vice Rector Prof. Recep Bozdoğan Ph.D. expressed that spring festival will critically contribute both our university and our country and the scientific environment, and showed his satisfaction because of the activity arrangement. He said “Marmara University, Turkey’s one of the oldest and radical universities, was constituted by Sultan II. Abdulhamid Han in 1883. Marmara University, one of the most prominent and most important schools of our country, has hundreds of thousands of graduates. One of them is our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The scientists, artists, athletes, bureaucrats, and businessmen dominating the business World were graduated from Marmara University beside our president. There is spring meeting today. So we are joyful. Hereby this, our alumni came together. Both their acquaintances increase and their connections to Marmara University get stronger. We believe that these type of activities seriously contribute to both our university and our country, both our scientific environment and our socio-cultural lives.”
