The opening of Marmara University Faculty of Applied Sciences Jewelery Department Workshop was held on August 1, 2022 in Mehmet Genç Kulliye.
In addition to Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, the opening was attended by Marmara University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut and Director of Continuing Education Center Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Talat Inan.
The workshop, which was previously located in Göztepe Campus, was moved to the Mehmet Genç Kulliye Vocational School Building, Classroom 214, with the support of Mita Mühendislik.
Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Sibel Kılıç stated that giving workshop courses and theoretical courses in different campuses brought along some difficulties for students and teachers, and these difficulties disappeared with this relocation undertaken by Mita Mühendislik. Kılıç also added that the technical installation and equipment of the workshop was enhanced and the working capacity was doubled.
In his opening speech, Rector Mustafa Kurt said, “As an academician and senior manager, I am very happy with the cooperation of our university's units with the industry and efforts to improve the quality of education. Until very recently, we were the School of Applied Sciences. We are now the Faculty of Applied Sciences. On this occasion, I would like to congratulate all faculty members.”
Mita Mühendislik, Kurbanoğlu Mühendislik, and İklim Mühendislik companies, Ender Demirtaş and Mustafa Naci Top were presented their Certificates of Appreciation by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt. The event ended with the workshop opening ceremony and workshop tour.
