Thanks to the Project Team for Bringing the YÖK 2021 Excellence Awards to Marmara University

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özen, Prof. Dr. Safa Barış, Prof. Dr. Elif Aydıner from the Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Dr. Tunç Akkoç from the Faculty of the Sports Sciences, who took part in the project named "Genomic Analysis of Congenital Immune Defects with the Turkish-American Consortium", which brought our university the International Cooperation Award in the Institutional Category within the scope of 2021 YÖK Excellence Awards, were presented a certificate of appreciation and award.

At the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt emphasized that this award, which makes our university proud, contributed greatly to becoming a "Research University" and emphasized the importance of supporting these valuable studies as a university.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Oğuzhan Özen gave information about the research in the presentation about the project. In his presentation, Özen stated that, in addition to the goal of improving human health and rehabilitating sick children, the project, which was carried out with the United States National Institute of Health, is a project that will serve as an example for other studies as it is a project that will be beneficial to the two institutions, faculties, our university, our country and humanity. 

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Mustafa Celen, Prof. Dr. Omer Akgiray, Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Hakan Gündüz and General Secretary Dr. Murat Arısal presented the certificates of appreciation and the Excellence Award presented by our President on 5 October to the faculty members who contributed to the project.
