Vice Rector Prof.Recep Bozlayan, Secretary General Assoc. Mehmet Ersoy PhD, Atatürk Education Faculty Dean Prof. Ahmet Şükrü Özdemir PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Technology Prof. Hasan Erdal PhD, Director of Foreign Language College Prof. Harun Duman PhD, dean assistants and many academic and administrative staff participated in the event.
The event started with the concert of Fine Arts Education Head of Department Prof. Mustafa Uslu's AEF Orchestra and AEF Choir,directed by Assist. Prof. Bülent Helvaşi. The poem performances prepared by Turkish Language and Literature Teaching Department were realized. The video recordings of the graduated students and their messages gave a different dimension to the activity.
Protocol speeches were delivered after the the poem performances. Speaking on behalf of the protocol, Dean of Atatürk Faculty of Education Prof.Ahmet Şükrü Özdemir PhD emphasized the importance of teacher education. Emphasizing that the most important determinant of the quality of an educational system is the teacher qualifications. Özdemir said that teachers should not only consider professional qualifications but also effective and mental competencies in the selection of students. In addition, Prof.Özdemir emphasized that social competences are as important as the qualifications that are required for the employment in today’s world. He mentioned that the most important of these social skills are effective communication, business association, entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, information literacy and problem solving.
The event, moderated by the Chair of the Turkish Language Association Prof.Mustafa S. Kacalin PhD continued with the panel with the participation of Asst. Assoc. Yaprak Türkan Taş PhD, Asst. Assoc. Mahmut Babacan PhD and Asst. Assoc. Mustafa Otrar PhD as a panelists.
After the plaque ceremony, the event ended with a cocktail which took place at the foyer area.
