A seminar titled "Support to Education, Service to Production" was organized by Marmara University Technical Sciences Vocational School Design Department on January 19, 2022. The seminar, in which Generel Manager M. Uğur Balkuv of the Uğur Balkuv Triko Ind. And Trade Inc., one of the leading companies in the Knitwear Industry, participated as a speaker, was held in Marmara University Mehmet Genç Kulliye B Blue Hall.
The seminar continued with the promotional video of its factories in Dudullu and Geyve, following the opening speech of Aslı Yılmaz Kılıç, Quality Assurance and System Engineer of Uğur Balkuv Triko. Uğur Balkuv Triko General Manager M. Uğur Balkuv, who conveyed the company's establishment story and the dynamics in the knitwear sector comparatively, added that they attach great importance to educational institutions, especially vocational schools.
Balkuv stated that they have offered the facilities of the business to the students of the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts Textile Department, with whom they have been collaborating until now, and that they have trained the graduates they employ to train pattern designers through in-service training programs. He also stated that they are planning a joint education model to train knitwear pattern designers together with Marmara University Technical Sciences Vocational School Design and Textile Clothing, Footwear and Leather Departments in the future. Balkuv also added that they will evaluate the applications of the students of the Electrical and Energy and Electronic Automation Departments of the Vocational School of Technical Sciences to do internships in their factories in Dudullu and Geyve.
In the last part of the seminar, the questions of the Vocational School students about the sector were answered by the Management Representative Mahir Alptekin, the Quality Assurance and System Manager Sertaç Yazıcı, the Human Resources Manager Erkan Eken, and the Quality Assurance and System Engineer Hatice Güner.
In the event, where the University-Industry Cooperation Protocol was signed between Vocational School of Technical Sciences and Uğur Balkuv Triko San. ve Tic. Inc., M. Uğur Balkuv was presented a certificate of appreciation by Lect. Dr. Demet Öznaz, Deputy Director of Vocational School.
