Marmara University Disabled Student Unit Coordinator organized an event titled “Sport is Equality event”  on the occasion of the disability week. The opening speeches were made by Disabled Student Unit Coordinator Zuhal Pek and Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut.

In her speech, Zuhal Pek stated that it is pleasing to raise many students in an integrative education environment that provides equal opportunities in education with a rights-based understanding. She stated that she is happy and proud of the work they do by giving importance to accessibility and that they always work for the better.

Vice-Rector  Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut, on the other hand, mentioned the importance of disability week in his speech and expressed the importance given to all studies on the concept of "disability" as an institution. He also thanked the Disabled Student Unit Coordinator for the organization of this event and other works.

After the opening speeches, conversations were held with NTV Radio programmer Ayhan Aktaş, League Radio programmer Haluk Keskin, National Athlete wheelchair basketball players Figen Eroğlu Ada, Zeki Ada, amputee national footballers Oktay Yıldız, Nurettin Dursunov and Pascal Nouma.

There was especially a conversation about amputee football and being an amputee football player,  being a basketball player in a wheelchair and the benefits of sports for the person. Athletes stated that they are confident with the active life they live thanks to sports and that they are happy with their success. After the conversation, Pascal Nouma and the amputee football players played for a while to shoot the mini-goal. Later, Pascal Nouma and the basketball players struggled and scored baskets. At the end of the event, plaques and cups with the names of the athletes were presented to them.
