The project proposal, which was prepared by scholars of the Faculty of Technology Department of Computer Engineering, has been chosen to support within Tansforming Systems through Partmership Poragram that was carried out by Royal Academy of Engineering and with the collaboration of Tubitak.
Academicians Dr. Buket Doğan and Dr. Kazım Yıldız, Research Assist. Dr. Banu Çalış Uslu, Research Assist. Dr. Anıl Baş, Research Assist. Dr. Eyüp Emre Ülkü and Dr. Ahmet Melih Selçuk from Project Partner Analythinx Information Services will take place in the smart waste collection project proposed within the framework of “Evliya Çelebi-Newton Fund Industry-Academy Partnership Program” and to be carried out by academician Dr. Önder Demir.
The budget allocated for the project was determined as 78.792 British Pounds (650.000₺). The project titled “Developing a dynamic, smart and sustainable scheduling for location optimization of underground and overland containers and solid waste collection in urban areas: Maltepe Municipality case study” will be carried out in cooperation with Sheffield Hallam University in the UK and Maltepe Municipality in Turkey. The industry partner of the project will be Analythinx Information Services.
It is aimed to develop a smart and sustainable schedule for optimizing the location of underground and overland waste containers and solid waste collection in urban areas by determining the routes of solid waste vehicles in the region of Maltepe Municipality in Istanbul.
