The research that was carried out by  Prof. Dr. İlhan Yavuz of the Marmara University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Physics Department and researchers of the UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) Materials Science Engineering Department was published in Nature, one of the world's most prestigious scientific journals, on March 15, 2022. Thanks to the research, one of the biggest obstacles in front of solar cell technology have been solved.

Researchers have discovered the main reason why perovskite solar cells show promise for improved energy conversion efficiency, degrading their performance in sunlight. By successfully arranging production to avoid degradation, the team removed the biggest obstacle to the widespread adoption of thin-film solar cell technology.
