The panel, which was held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the adoption of our independence march and the 85th anniversary of Mehmet Akif Ersoy's death, was held on Thursday, 23rd December at the İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall. The opening speech of the program, which started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, was delivered by Dr. Erol Süzük, Deputy Dean of Atatürk Faculty of Education.
Assoc. Prof. Nermin Özcan Özer presented the biography of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, a master of Turkish, representative of exemplary morality, and national poet, with slides. Then, Prof. Dr. Asuman Akay Ahmed, who worked as a lecturer at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Cairo University in Egypt, where Mehmet Akif served as lecturer, gave a speech titled “Mehmet Akif and Values in the National Anthem”.
After Assoc. Prof. Nermin Özcan Özer's speech on "Mehmet Akif and Educational Approach" and Dr. Aslı Fişekçioğlu's speech on "Mehmet Akif Ersoy in terms of Interculturalism", students Eyüp Tekin and Bahadır Evrim Doğan read poems.
The panel ended with the presentation of certificates of appreciation.
