Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy's "White Coat Ceremony" for the 2024-2025 Academic Year was held on Wednesday, November 13th, at the Pharmacy Faculty Conference Hall in the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Complex. Prof. Dr. Hatice Kübra Elçioğlu, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, delivered the opening speech of the ceremony.

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Elçioğlu stated, “We are delighted to hold the 22nd White Coat Ceremony, a tradition in our faculty, and to share the joy of welcoming our newest colleagues. Marmara University is one of the pioneering research universities with a deep-rooted history and a strong future. You must determine the project, logical framework, and goals for every task you undertake. You should ask yourself, ‘What can I do for the benefit and happiness of others?’ You need to develop a sense of belonging, not individually, but institutionally and socially, and be generous in doing good. From this moment forward, each of you is a pharmacist; I believe that these white coats, symbols of scientific pharmacy, will further increase the value of pharmacy in your future lives. As one of the professors who has always believed in and trusted you, I warmly welcome you to the scientific pharmacy and sincerely wish you to be conscientious and compassionate throughout your education and professional life.”

Marmara University’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, stated, “From the moment you enter Marmara University, we see you as students who wish to learn their profession in the best way possible, and tomorrow, as the best pharmacists or researchers in the field of pharmacy in our country. Your university and professors are always by your side to guide you and provide the best education. Your success is our success. Just like today, you will make us proud tomorrow as well.” Prof. Dr. Kurt continued his words by saying “As your rector, I believe that you will graduate with clear foreheads, just like the color of your white coats, and become valuable individuals for our country and human life. Always be proud to be a student of the Marmara Pharmacy tradition, and never stop striving for excellence and production. I wish all the students who will soon wear their white coats, and the professors who have dedicated themselves to educating them, success as they take this significant step.”

The white coats were presented to the students by the Rector and academicians. The ceremony concluded with a photo session.
