Dean Prof. Dr. Ergün Yıldırım made an opening speech in the ceremony that Journal and Academician Yusuf Kaplan was invited as a spokesperson, as well. Prof. Dr. Ergün Yılmaz mentioned his anticipation about new academic year in his speech and wished success to all academicians. After Yıldırım’s opening speech, the first lesson of the academic year was given by Journal and Academician Yusuf Kaplan. Kaplan emphasized that philosophical accumulation needs to reflect on art works and he evaluated the connection between cinema and philosophy within the frame of historicity the intellectual relationship between the West and the geography we live in. The 2016-2017 Opening Ceremony ended with question and answer session after the photo shoot.
