Director of the vocational school Prof. Harun Duman made an opening speech in the panel held in Göztepe Campus Dr. İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall. Prof. Harun Duman emphasized the modern teaching techniques in foreign language teaching and mentioned the importance of foreign languages as a communication medium in the globalizing world.

Istanbul University Ali Yücel Faculty of Education Department of German Language Teaching lecturer Assoc. Prof. Sevinç Hatipoğlu made the first presentation entitled “Yabancı Dil Öğretiminde İşbirlikli Öğrenme (Peer Learning in Foreign Language Teaching)” and Prof. Hatipoğlu also was the chairperson in the panel. In the presentation, she discussed the effective usage of peer learning in foreign language teaching. After the presentation, Istanbul University Ali Yücel Faculty of Education Department of German Language Teaching lecturer Asst. Assoc. Prof. Birsen Sayınsoy emphasized a solution-oriented education conception in the presentation entitled “Yabancı Dil Öğretmenleri-Araştırmacı Öğretmenler (Foreign Language Teachers- Inquisitive Teachers)”.

Marmara University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Translation and Interpreting (French Language) lecturer Assoc. Prof. Gülhanım Ünsal made a presentation entitled “Yabancı Dil Öğretiminde Öğrenme Stillerinin Önemi (Importance of Learning Type in Foreign Language Teaching)” on the behalf of the French Language Teaching and shared the results and finding of the survey that Ünsal carried out with the students.

Lastly, Istanbul University Ali Yücel Faculty of Education Department of English Language Teaching lecturer Asst. Assoc. Prof. Dilek İnal made a presentation entitled “Günümüzde İngilizce'nin Küresel Rolü ve Bu Bağlamda İngilizce Öğretimi (The Global Role of English Language and English Language Teaching in this Context)” in the panel.  The importance of English language in the globalizing world and new and modern approaches concordantly were a matter of debate.

In the end of the panel, Director of the vocational school Prof. Harun Duman, Vice Director of the vocational school Prof. Leyla Coşan and Vice Director of the vocational school Assoc. Prof. Mahmut Tekçe presented appreciation certificates to the spokespersons.
