The opening speech of the program was delivered by Asst.Assoc. Mehdi Genceli PhD. Faculty of Science and Letters Department of History Prof. Süleyman Beyoğlu gave information about the book titled "Medina Defense and Fahreddin Pasha". He said’’ Madin Müdâfii Fahreddin Pasha, one of the less well-known cymbals of our history,he has written his name in Turkish-Islamic history in gold letters with patriotism, devout and dignified position besides his superior military merits.Prof. Beyoğlu said, "Fahreddin Pasha, the Muslim holy city of Islam against the Sharif Hussein Revolt, who cooperated with the British in the First World War, and the Muslim Ravza-yi Mutahhara of the Prophet with great sacrifices in Arab- He did not accept Medina until after the Mondros Agreement signed on October 30, 1918. However, some officers in his command had to surrender to Arabics because of his resistance to them.Medina Defense have an exceptional place in terms of their determination to defense the sacred places of the Turkish Nation regarded as homeland in the First World War. " said.
At the end of the program, the Director of the Turkic Studies Research Institute Prof. Okan Yeşilot presented a plaque to Prof. Süleyman Beyoğlu.
