Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt said in the opening speech “Marmara University Prof. Dr. Asaf Ataseven Hospital was a structure whose foundation was laid in previous years and it took a long time to be put into service due to construction processes and earthquake strengthening works. In 2019, with the instructions of our President, the opening process was accelerated and started to serve as Pandemic Hospital. Our hospital building, which has an indoor area of 113 thousand square meters, consists of 16 blocks and 1 heating center. There are 195 polyclinic rooms and 535 service beds, 60 intensive care units, 20 suites, 26 emergency and 20 dialysis beds in our hospital. In addition, the presence of 28 high-level operating theaters, including 2 transplantation rooms and 5 emergency operation rooms, will make significant contributions to our Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, which is an ambitious institution in medical education. In this sense, we are also happy that our students will also benefit from these opportunities.”
