Opening speeches of the conference were made by Dean of Theology Faculty Prof. Ali Köse PhD, and Rector of our university Prof. M. Emin Arat  PhD.Director of Religious Affairs Prof. Ali Erbaş PhD has mentioned that the Ministry of Religious Affairs is one of Turkey's most established institutions and has informed about the structure of the organization.Prof. Erbaş emphasized that the basis of the civilizations is based on knowledge and science, and the basis of the knowledge is related to reading and writing, and gave advices to the students. Professor pointed out that it is difficult for someone to expound the Quran. Erbas said: "Astronomy knowledge is needed to understand some verses from the Quran. One who reads books and articles about astronomy understands these verses better than anyone who hasn’t read any of them. That is why we say that it is difficult to expound . We are not sure that we will make it better, but our purpose is to expound it with experts in each field. I mean, an astronomer should be in the place where related verses are being expounded. Development processes of the babies in the venters are told after one half of the first page of Muminun Verse. An expert in his field should  definitely be near the teachers. Earth sciences, astronomy… I mean, there are departments and engineerings about these fields in the related universities. We should bring together these experts and go to the better understanding point about these verses logically."
