Our faculty team "Airflow" won the 3rd place in the Turbofan Motor Design Competition organized by TR-Motor company, which developed a turbofan engine for national combat aircraft.

Faculty of Technology Department of Mechanical Engineering Prof. Dr. Mustafa Atmaca and Research Assist. Berat Kuş, Ahmet Aydemir, Murat Nazlı and Batuhan Başpınar designed the engine of the aircraft which was planned to be put into service in 2029.

With the project they developed, our faculty team Airflow managed to increase the impulse/weight ratio by 15% by optimizing the turbine inlet temperature, fan and compressor pressure values of the base motor given in the competition. The fuel consumption of the engine was reduced by 15%.  In the competition that was applied by the 112 teams, our team took third place in the competition.
