Marmara University Technical Sciences Vocational School Department of Design Fashion Design Program lecturer Demet Öznaz have created three dimensional experimental garment designs by using plastic textures which is created with melting technique from our market and nylon bags which enter our homes almost every day. By referring to the protection of the natural environment by converting the plastic textures that are blended with the digital printing patterns on the fabric to wearable clothing, she wanted to create awareness in the reuse of the materials in her exhibition.
Demet Öznaz summarizes the starting point of the exhibition, which is inspired by nature, environment and recycled clothing design;’’ What distinguishes man from other creatures is the design and creation instinct. This instinct interferes with the transformation of an ordinary material into new forms.’’
Demet Öznaz's "Don’t Throw, Collect, Convert and Use’’ exhibition can be seen until 28 September.
