Within the scope of the meeting held at Göztepe Campus Rectorate building, the cooperation protocol between the two universities was signed by Sultan İsmail Petra International Islamic University Rector Prof. Dr. Ab Aziz Bin Mohd Zin and Marmara University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut . At the visit,  Malaysia Kelantan State Deputy Minister YB Dato' Haji Mohd Amar Bin Nik Abdullah with his accompanying delegation, Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Boynukalın, Director of the Institute of Islamic Economics and Finance,  and  Lect. Dr. Ömer Elbeyli of the Faculty of Theology  was also present.

At the end of the visit, Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut  presented  a memento of Marmara University to Prof. Dr. Ab Aziz Bin Mohd Zin.
