The aims of BEZCE 2016 are to provide for the exchange of information on regional-local fabrics by bringing all institutions and people who actively weave regional fabrics with university together; to share the developments and practices in regional fabric weaving; to bring new approaches and solutions to the subjects of regional fabric weaving; to raise awareness on   the significance of local fabric weaving in economic, cultural and social life.

Applied scientific practices will be shared in BEZCE 2016 on the history of regional fabrics; the application of regional fabrics in garments design; the usage of regional fabrics in functional products design; regional weaving masters and technical characteristics of regional fabrics; dyeing properties of regional fabrics   and archaeological textiles. BEZCE 2016, consisting of workshops, congress and exhibition, will bring scholars, business people and organizations together; and will let new solutions and values come into light by     presenting the topics, practices and experiences on regional-local weaving.

In december, there will be a plan to productise  the avaliable designs, accompanied bt the designers.

Between 21-13 March, 2016, the 7th International Istanbul Textile Conference will be held in Sultanahmet Campus Conference Center- Cumhuriyet Museum. 

The chairmanship of the  council of the organisation  is performed by Marmara University Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akalın, while its co-chairman is Prof.Dr. Günay Atalayer, who is a lecturer at our university.
