On occasion of Europe Day, 9 May 2019, various panels and conferences are held within the scope of Marmara European Week organized by European Research Institute between May 3rd and 10th May. Ambassador Volkan Bozkır, who served as the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator in the 62nd and 64th Governments and still serving as the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Parliament, gave a seminar titled "Turkish Foreign Policy and the European Union Process" in the opening meeting of the “Marmara European Week” event held on May 6, 2019. The meeting of which Vice Rector Professor Mustafa Çelen was moderator occured as closed session attended by academicians from 18 different universities. In this seminar, Ambassador Volkan Bozkır gave a general panorama of the Turkish Foreign Policy and the European Union process, particularly the recent crisis in the Syrian crisis and relations with the European Union. The subjects related to the Cyprus issue with questions and Eastern Mediterranean Energy Resources, Turkey's contribution to the Common Security Defense Policy, relations with global actors in the Middle East and relations with European Union and the EU's future were discussed.
