With the organization of MARPAM,  9. International Psychological Counseling and Guidance Research Congress took place on 15-17 November at Sultanahmet Complex, Marmara University.

The moderators of the congress organized by Marmara University Psychological Counseling and Guidance Research Center (MARPAM) were Prof. Dr. Halil Ekşi and Assoc. Prof.  Müge Yüksel.

The opening speeches of the event were made by Prof.Dr. Kemal Sayar and Prof. Dr. Bradley Erford. In the congress, the role and importance of Psychological Counseling and Guidance Practice Research Centers for the university students to have a happy university life and the development of professional skills and competencies of the employees of the centers were exchanged. Preventive, preventive and curative intervention methods were addressed for students’ problems and needs.

Within the congress, four panels were organized that included peer counseling in higher education, common problems in universities, precautions and intervention methods, approach to psychiatric disorders in higher education students and evolution of psychotherapy services. Also,  national and international participants made presentations in 37 different sessions in that congress.

In the context of the multidisciplinary approach, 24 workshops were conducted by psychological counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists who are specialists in their fields.
