7th International Machining Symposium aims to be a bridge between industry and academy. Faculty of Technology, Department of Machine Engineering academician, and Chair of Regulation Board Assoc. Prof. Yusuf Kaynak, and Vice Rector and Dean of Faculty of Technology Prof. Mehmet Akalın made an opening speech in the symposium. Supporters of the symposium Torun Bakır Alaşımları Metal Sanayi and Tic. A.Ş. Holding General Director Ömer Faruk Öz made a speech entitled “Expectations of Manufacturing Industries from Universities”.

University of Kentucky Department of Machine Engineering academician and also Director of Sustainable Manufacturing Institute Prof. I. S. Jawahir attended as a guest speaker and made a presentation entitled “Sustainable Machining Process Model and Optimization”.
