The first online conference of the 2021 Marmara European Week Events organized by the Institute of European Studies of Marmara University in honor of 9 May Europe Day was held. The opening speech of the conference on "Current Affairs in Turkey-EU Relations" held on May 3 was made by our Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar. In his speech, Özvar said: “I believe that the international European Week Events, which have now become traditional, have a significant contribution to Turkey-EU relations and the EU membership process. On this occasion, I attach importance to focusing on solutions by bringing Turkish and European experts together and addressing the current problems between the parties in terms of Marmara University's leading role.”
Attending the conference as a speaker, the Deputy Foreign Minister, Director for EU Affairs and Ambassador Faruk Kaymakçı made evaluations about the current situation in Turkey-EU relations and the fundamental principles of a possible positive agenda.
Within the scope of the Marmara European Week that will last between May 3-5, 2021, Marmara University will host Ambassador R. Engin Soysal, Chairman of the Economic Development Foundation Ayhan Zeytinoğlu and Austrian Trade Attache Mag. Georg Karabaczek.
