The opening of the“16th Secondary School Students Research Projects Competition” exhibition, hosted by Marmara University and organized in cooperation with TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, was held on March 28, 2022, at the Mehmet Genç Kulliye Exhibition Hall.
Making the opening speech of the exhibition, TÜBİTAK Istanbul Asian Regional Coordinator and the Marmara University Faculty of Technology’s Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Oğuzhan Gündüz said, “I congratulate all students and teachers who participated in this competition with their research. I accept all of you as winners of this competition”.
After the opening of the exhibition, which included 100 projects selected from 716 project applications in the Istanbul Asian Region, the participants visited the project stands in the fair area.
The award ceremony of the competition was held on March 31, 2022, at Marmara University Mehmet Genç Complex and attended by Maltepe District Governor Bahri Tiryaki, Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Levent Yazıcı, Düzce Provincial Director of National Education Tamer Kırbaç and Sakarya Provincial Director of National Education Ebubekir Sıddık Savaşçı.
“TUBITAK undertakes a very important mission in terms of our national development. In this context, I would like to underline the importance of the knowledge and technology development studies carried out among our students. Such activities contribute to the future of our beautiful country, whose future is very clear. On the other hand, I would like to emphasize the importance of holding this event under the roof of Marmara University, a qualified institution that draws a strong roadmap in education with its deep-rooted history” said Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Levent Yazıcı in the award ceremony.
Sakarya Provincial Director of National Education, Ebubekir Sıddık Savaşçı said an anecdote in his speech: “Alexander the Great, while describing his teacher Aristotle, he said that “My father brought me down from the sky, my teacher raised me from the ground to the sky. I would like to thank our esteemed teachers and express that I am hopeful for the future.”
Duzce Provincial Director of National Education Tamer Kırbaç expressed his satisfaction for being in this event organized by TÜBİTAK and thanked the participants, students, and teachers for their selfless support.
