Marmara University Took Place in the List of  "The World's Most Influential Scientists" 

"The World's Most Influential Scientists" list carried out by a commission consisting of scientists from the United States of America and Netherlands was published in the journal of PLOS Biology, the leading peer-reviewed academic literature platform. Scientists who are in the 2% percentile of the success ranking were included in the list named "World Top 2% Scientists".

Within the scope of the research,  in the ranking created by examining the works of the 159.683 scientists throughout their career, 614 scientists from Turkey took place in the list.  11 scientists from Marmara University who managed to enter the list are as follows:

Prof. Dr. Veysel Gazi (Faculty of Engineering), Prof.Dr. Yusuf Yılmaz (Faculty of Medicine), Prof. Dr. Rafi Haner Direskeneli (Faculty of Medicine), Prof. Dr. Cenk Sayın (Technology Faculty), Prof. Dr. Göksel Şener (Faculty of Pharmacy), Prof. Dr. Jülide Akbuga (Faculty of Pharmacy), Prof. Dr. Metin Gümüş (Faculty of Technology), Prof. Dr. Sevim Rollas (Faculty of Pharmacy), Prof. Dr. Atıf Koca (Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Faik Nuzhet Oktar (Faculty of Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Serdar Aktaş (Faculty of Engineering). 

In the other ranking which 161.441 scientists were listed within the research that the 2019 year studies were examined, 13 of those scientists are from Marmara University.  In the result of the research, those names are as follows:  Prof. Dr. Cenk Sayın (Technology Faculty), Prof. Dr. Metin Gümüş (Faculty of Technology), Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yılmaz (Faculty of Medicine), Prof. Dr. Yusuf Kaynak ( Faculty of Technology), Prof. Dr. Rafi Haner Direskeneli (Faculty of Medicine), Prof. Dr. Veysel Gazi (Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Göksel Şener (Faculty of Pharmacy), Prof. Dr. Atıf Koca (Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Sevim Rollas (Faculty of Pharmacy), Assoc.
