A protocol has been signed between Marmara University's Faculty of Health Sciences, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), initiating research on "Hydration and Performance in Motor Sports."
The project, which aims to assess the hydration status of motorsports athletes and examine the relationship between this status and their competition performance, is led by Assoc. Prof. Ayşe Hümeyra İslamoğlu. The research team includes Research Assist. Yunus Emre Bakırhan, Intern Dietitian Batın Enes Dalkılıç, Intern Dietitian Ali Esat Coşkun, and Intern Dietitian Muhammed Eren Özgün.
Through anthropometric measurements, hydration status surveys, and performance analyses, the research aims to provide feedback on the athletes' development.
The project, which was initially launched as a pilot during the first round of the AVIS Turkey Circuit Championship, aims to cover the entire season and, based on the results obtained, to be applied to other disciplines in the future.
