Marmara University participated in the NAFSA 2024 Conference, the world's most important and largest international education conference, held in New Orleans, USA, from May 28 to 31, 2024.
Many institutions from Turkey also participated in the "NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo" event organized by NAFSA International Educators Association, an international education association that serves the needs of thousands of institutions from more than 100 countries, more than 10 thousand members and international educators worldwide.
The NAFSA Conference brought together over 3,000 academics and professionals from 100 different countries, offering participants the opportunity to attend numerous workshops, seminars, and special events in the field of international education. Marmara University, participating in the 76th edition of the world's most comprehensive higher education fair, received significant attention from visitors.
The conference, in which meetings were held with more than 100 institutions from various countries about new collaborations and projects for the coming years to increase Marmara University's academic collaborations and international projects, was attended by the General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Murat Arısal, International Relations and Academic Cooperation Office Director Prof. Dr. Nuri Tınaz, Deputy Directors Lect. Dr. Mert Denizci and Lect. Dr. H. Gökçen Öcal Özkaya and Instructor Gülden Bulut.
At the conference, it was focused on establishing and deepening new collaborations in different project areas with current partners, initiating efforts to find new partners, especially for newly opened departments with limited current partnerships, and enhancing the university's visibility and reputation in the international arena through the development of new academic collaborations worldwide and increasing cultural diversity in student/faculty exchanges.
