A Panel on 'Patient Rights of My Student' Was Held

The "Patient Rights of My Student" session, which is one of the "Teaching is Dedication, What a Teacher Should Know" panel series organized by the Disabled Student Unit Coordinator, was held on Wednesday, May 16, by Prof. Dr. Orhan Oğuz Library Conference Hall.

The panel, which aims to raise awareness among teacher candidates and raise awareness for disadvantaged groups, was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Nermin Özcan Özer. Participating in the event as a guest, Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Head of Medical Ethics Department, Prof. Dr. Gürkan Sert, after introducing the subject of legal rights and discrimination to teacher candidates, underlined how important a teacher's knowledge of patient rights will play in a student's life. Sert's speech, which gave various examples based on patient rights and court decisions, attracted great attention from the students.

The panel ended with the presentation of a plaque to Gürkan Sert.
