With a successful performance,the orchestra was awarded both the first prize in the "Classical music-orchestras" category and the "High Professional Achievement" award. The orchestra who took the mission to introduce the works of Turkish composers ,performed the works of Vivaldi, Boismortier, Saint Saens and Guidobaldi in addition to the work named "Dere Geliyor Dere" by Turkish composer Barış Zilberman in the concert performed at the international festival.
Marmara Flute Orchestra was founded by Flute Artist and Educator Prof. Ece Karşal PhD. Instrumentation was provided with the support of the Marmara University Scientific Research Projects Unit, and in November 2015 the orchestra began to work. All members of the orchestra, which is the first hosting Turkey's flute family are from 10 to 45.Professional flute artists, teachers, amateur flutists who can play an advanced flute, music students who play flute at different levels, such as primary, middle, high school and university level take part in the Orchestra. The Marmara Flute Orchestra, which was founded in 2015, has achieved great success in a short time. The group gave concerts in selected concert halls in Istanbul and in a short period of time won the right to participate in International Woodwind Instrument Festival in 2016 and performed the first works of 3 Turkish composers written for the orchestra on the international platform. Performing and promoting the works of Turkish composers are among the goals of the orchestra. The 50 orchestra members carry out a social responsibility mission for street animals and collect cat and dog food donations at their concerts. The Marmara Flute Orchestra is continues its studies at Marmara University.
