Transcendental Civilization in Istanbul

The event organized by Human and Civilization Movement (İMH) Bahariye Art Unit was held under the auspices of the Presidency and  with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). The event was performed with the cooperation of Istanbul University and Marmara University.

28 Turkish and Uzbek artists prepared 60 original works for the exhibition. These works and artists are as follows:  Hüsn-i Hat: Hasan Çelebi, Hüseyin Gündüz, Gürkan Pehlivan, Faruk Dinçer Eratlı; Tezhib: Mamure Öz, Nilüfer Kurfeyz, Faruk Taşkale, Münevver Üçer, Mustafa Çelebi, Selim Sağlam; Kaat ’: Meryem Güney, Ebru: Hikmet Barutçugil, Mahmut Pesteli; Miniature: Gülçin Anmaç, Cihangir Aşhurov, Kamol Mirzaev, Betül Bilgin; Pencil Work: Semih İrteş, Kaya Üçer, Davron Fattokhov, Kamoliddin Abdullaev; Volume: İslam Seçen; Tile: Güvenç Güven, Nursen Güven; Wood Carving: Hüsamettin Yivlik, Tokhir Gaziev, Abdimajit Abdurakhmonov.

The symposium is organized with the participation of 34 academicians. Symposium session titles are the effects of  today's Uzbekistan geography on our civilization and cultural history, Uzbekistan from past to present, ancient and common thought tradition, our cultural partnerships, common folk heritage language, traditional arts, traditional architecture. Under these titles, the topics such as history, language, culture, art, architecture, literature, philosophy and tradition of thought are dealt with in the symposium.

Project Coordinator Meryem Güney said they want to contribute to this exhibition and symposium through multiple cooperation between Turkey and Uzbekistan. She underlined the importance of recognizing the ancient ties of the two countries and bringing them closer together.
