TÖDEB Fintek Apprentice Program, launched in collaboration with the Turkey Payment and Electronic Money Institutions Association (TÖDEB) and Marmara University, held its 2023-2024 Academic Year Certificate and End-of-Year Closing Ceremony on Wednesday, July 3, at the Dr. İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall, Marmara University Göztepe Campus.
Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Talat İnan, Director of Marmara University Continuing Education Center, stated in his opening speech, "On behalf of our country and our university, I am proud to say that we have successfully completed this wonderful program in its inaugural year. Inspired by the ancient tradition of master-apprentice relationships in Anatolian culture, we are happy to have paved the way for the transfer of experience from generation to generation through this program." İnan emphasized that the program, which not only imparted academic knowledge but also industry experiences through internship opportunities, led by our university's academics and hosted by our university, has achieved its fundamental goals in its first year. He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Central Bank Board, the TÖDEB Board, and the entire working team for their strong collaboration in executing the program.
Ozan Çağrı Gazitürk, Head of Financial Strategies and Analysis Department at the Presidency Finance Office, thanked those involved in the implementation of the program in his opening speech and offered advice to the graduates embarking on their career journey. Ufuk Bilgetekin, Chairman of the TÖDEB Board, stated in his speech, "We strongly believed in this project. Today, graduating our first cohort is proof that the master-apprentice relationship and the public-private sector partnership can achieve many successes together." Bilgetekin emphasized that vocational and spiritual satisfaction should be prioritized over many material concerns, with continuous learning being the focal point.
Following the certificate presentation to the graduates, a panel titled "The Journey of the Apprentice and Master," moderated by Dr. Orhan Yazgan, Board Member of PayFix, was held. During the panel, Cansel Şenyurt and her mentor Didem Karabayır, Business Development Manager at İyzi İş, along with Muratcan Karaca and his mentor Çiğdem Demir, Business Development Coordinator at Payporter, shared their experiences with the participants.
The closing ceremony ended with a panel discussion and group photo session.
