The project within the framework of the protocol between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Marmara University for the development of domestic and national products in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Connected and Autonomous Vehicles has been completed. The outputs of the project, which was completed in December, were announced to the public and made available for open access by the Ministry.
Within the scope of the project, 3 projects were prepared for the technical requirements and features of all components of Connected Vehicles, V2X communication, and Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems. The experiences of Marmara University VeNIT Lab, which carried out field applications for the first time in Turkey, were among the best practice examples.
The project was carried out under the leadership of VeNIT lab Director Assoc. Prof. Müjdat Soytürk and by VeNIT Lab staff. With this project, in which cellular and wireless communication technologies were used, the features of Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems, Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Applications, in-vehicle information and communication systems and the technical infrastructure required for data collection by these systems were determined. Relevant standards and application examples were included in the reports.
