International Printing Technologies Symposium Was Held

In the final declaration of the symposium; It was emphasized that the printing industry's product diversity increased and the demand for innovative and environment-friendly products increased and as a result, the sector was undergoing a major change and transformation process. The emphasis was on the need to produce smart packaging, printed electronics, digital textiles and personalized products according to proven standards. It was decided that all stakeholders of the printing sectors would produce comprehensive and comprehensive solutions to the problems faced by the sector. It was proposed to share the reports with the State Planning Organization. It was stated that the ecological footprint of the printing sector will be determined and the necessary measures will be taken. The importance of the collection and recycling of wastes in the sector was explained. The requirements for the development of electronic publishing were identified. The importance of developing university-industry cooperation for the training of qualified labor force was emphasized. It was decided to follow the innovations in printing technologies.

At the gala dinner of the event, Honor Plaques were given to the teachers who started their education in 1951 and taught at Sultanahmet Matbaa Vocational High School, which was the only printing press vocational high school of our country, and who completed their 50th year in their profession.

In the symposium, the “Golden Hurufat ”award was given for the first time in our country.  The “Golden Hurufat ”was awarded to  BASEV in the category of service award to the sector, science and education.  The award, which was brought to life by the proposal of  Professor Mehmet Oktav, will be given in four different categories every two years.

The event was attended by  90 scholars from 9 countries and 20 different universities, 20 graduate students, 300 undergraduate and associate degree students, 85 people from the printing industry and many listeners. The participants of the event were presented a book titled “Chemistry for Graphic Arts” which was translated by the Printing Industry Education Foundation (BASEV).
