Instructor of Marmara University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Bioengineering and Director of MİTTO Prof. Dr. Ahu Altınkut Uncuoğlu held the event in the Congress Hall Complex of Ottoman Archives, President of Republic of Turkey State Archive Department.
The congress was supported by Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) and University-Industry Cooperation Centers Platform.
The congress based on the Agricultural Biotechnology brought together stakeholders from the biotechnology sector and academic staff from all around the world.
Within the program “EXPO DAY”(Industrial Fair Day) that was organized on the last day of the program, authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Tubitak staff, Ar-Ge companies, special academic staff, mentors and Technology Transfer Office Supervisors came together.
At the congress, Turkey's situation for biotechnology in agriculture, the points which are need to improve and suggestions were discussed. In the sessions, it was dealt with the topics such as improving the nutritional quality of plants and increasing their quantity, improving the production of economy, 'Green Biotechnology' researches and applications that apply biotechnological methods on plants, how to increase technology transfer capacity, how to establish sustainable cooperation with partners on ‘Green Biotechnology’ were discussed.
