Deniz Telek, PhD student at Marmara University, Institute of Social Sciences, was awarded with the International Film Critics Federation (FIPRESCI) Award at the 38th Istanbul Film Festival Short Film Competition for her short film named ‘’Gümüş’’ (The Gentle Sadness of Things).

Deniz Telek received his award at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum's award ceremony held on 6th April, 2019.  The jury,  declared that it was awarded  for "showing the depths of human nature in the context of family relations as a cultural and emotional legacy." The ‘’Gümüş’’ film had already been shown and awarded in many national and international festivals.
