The active student clubs of Marmara University Faculty of Medicine held the first of the “Cancer Prevention Seminars” on 25th December with the participation of 140  students,  coming together with the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) and the Association of Cancer Fighters.

The information about statistics of cancer in Europe and the health politics of the EU was shared in the seminar, which was held in order to draw attention to the ways to prevent cancer,  through a video with  Brussels, where the ECL Head Office is located.

Professor Bester Atasoy of Radiation Oncology, Faculty of Medicine, made a speech titled "Approach and Treatment Strategies in Cancer Patients in Turkey".

Secretary-General of Cancer Fighters Association Belma Kurdoğlu took part in the meeting with her speech on “Reflections of Health in Civil Society and Association Activities”.

European Cancer Societies' Association Young Ambassador of Turkey and also a student of  Marmara University Faculty of Medicine Yakup  Gözderesi told the European Cancer Code and cancer prevention strategies.  The meeting ended with interactive questions and answers.
