The Protocol for the Project of Determining the Technical Specifications of the In-Vehicle Information and Communication System (ABHS) between the Marmara University Rectorate and the General Directorate of Communications of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure was  signed by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt and Deputy General Manager of Communications Esma Dilek on September 8, 2022.

The Project Kick-off Meeting was held on September 9, 2022 within the scope of the National Intelligent Transportation Systems Strategy Document and the 2020-2023 Action Plan, which came into force by being published with the Presidential Circular.

Within the scope of the project, studies will be carried out to determine the characteristics of the in-vehicle information and communication systems using cellular and wireless communication technologies and the technical infrastructure that will enable data collection by these systems. Thus, road and driving safety will be increased with services such as collecting vehicle and road status information, electronic toll collection, accident and emergency information, and driver information. In addition, it is planned to prepare the necessary infrastructure to facilitate the transition to autonomous driving, considering that the main goal is road and driving safety.
