Turkish Flute Ensemble, consisting of members of the Marmara Flute Orchestra and Istanbul Flute Ensemble, participated in the International Great Flutes Festival held in Washington, the capital of the USA.
Prof. Dr. Ece Karşal, Prof. Ayla Uludere, Lect. Dr. Şebnem Uşen, Özlem Noyan, Özge Salar Berber, Melek Dallı, Erdem Oğuz, Rahşan İzmirli Oğuz, Kelly Kapusuzoğlu, Seda Demircioğlu and Filiz Yaylacı performed a successful concert, which was held on April 12, 2024. The concert, performed with 40 double basses and flutes for the first time at the festival, broke a world record.
At the festival, a Turkish piece was performed with the orchestra's accompaniment consisting of specially selected professional flutists. In addition to the performance consisting of Turkish melodies, Oya Çınar's piece "Kovalamaca" attracted great attention from the audience. Following the concert, the event ended with a speech made by Washington Embassy Cultural Attaché Fatih Öztürk.
